Since 1964 the congress has been held annually over the August Bank Holiday weekend, attracting players from the local area and further afield. Our current venue is St Piran’s School, Maidenhead (approximately a 50-minute journey from central London on the Elizabeth Line).

The top sections of the congress are FIDE-rated, and all sections are ECF-rated.

As one of the UK’s longest-running weekend congresses, we are always keen to welcome new players, as well as those who have played in previous years. We have sections suitable for all levels, from near-beginners upwards. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event.
